The story of how Gottlieb, Rackman & Reisman came to
be begins with three talented young attorneys who, through
hard work and a fair amount of guts, made their professional
vision real.
Mike Rackman met Jim Reisman in 1961, when both were working
in the Patent Department of the famed Bell Telephone Laboratories.
A few years later, the two found themselves coworkers yet
again, at a small private practice alongside fellow associate
George Gottlieb. Over the course of the next five years, each
began to sense that, together, they possessed just the right
blend of personality, expertise, and contacts to form their
own intellectual property firm. By 1970, the three were ready
to go. Armed with a few used typewriters, one office assistant,
and a borrowed telephone number, Gottlieb, Rackman & Reisman
opened its doors, eager to establish its presence in the legal
world.
From the start, growth was steady, with one or two associates
joining every year or so. Today, many of those early hires
are senior partners boasting tenures of 25 years or more.
This marked dedication, echoed by the continuing commitment
of the founders themselves, remains a rarity in the business
world—particularly in the field of intellectual property
law. With many of Gottlieb, Rackman & Reisman’s
attorneys in their second or third decade with the firm, the
strength, experience, and vitality of our closely-knit organization
simply cannot be matched.
Gottlieb, Rackman & Reisman has also cultivated this
kind of loyalty among its clients with a combination of personal
attention, careful analysis, and teamwork second to none.
Of our many longstanding clients, several are the second generation
in their family to seek out our advice. Their continued retention
of our services may be the truest testimonial to the standards
of excellence we represent and to our significant achievements
through the years.
Today, Gottlieb, Rackman & Reisman’s skilled attorneys
excel in scientific, technological, and trade-related fields,
also keeping a firm grasp on the latest developments affecting
intellectual property law. Accessible, resourceful, and highly
successful, Gottlieb, Rackman & Reisman advances through
its fourth decade much like it did its first: consistently
attaining the winning results clients want, need, and deserve.
